Hi there ! Thanks for visiting the sydneystormchasers.com
Please feel free to contact the owners of this site.
James Harris - jimboharr@hotmail.com

James is an Adelaide boy but we don't hold that against him. James is based in the traquil suburb of Galston- importantly, only 90 minutes from the Hunter. James grew up in Northern Sydney where is love of storms was only matched by his love of cricket. James is especially lethal off a long run (though his bowling action is a tad suspect), and his Murray Walker impression is only topped by his freakish ability to talk like Tony Grieg for hours on end (something that frequently happens on a storm chase).
Daniel Weatherhead - dann@sydneystormchasers.com
Dann is a Melbournite but, again, we don't hold that against him either. Growing up in Western Sydney, Dann watched the storms brew over the ranges from the roof of his parents house. Now based in leafy Warrimoo located in the Blue Mountains, Dann shares a similar love of sport, and though he has no forward defensive shot, he can punt the leather Sherrin a mile. Partnered in commentary with James, Dann readily supports with his uncanny impresonation of Ray 'Rabs' Warren - and like Rabs, is always willing to absolutely over the top on typically mundane topics.
Matthew Smith - mattysmithsemail@gmail.com

Matt was the founder of Thunderstruck Storm chasing in 1998. Matt grew up in Burwood but now lives in Blacktown, with easy access to major freeways for frequent chasing! Matt's love of extreme weather has him out and about whenever possible, chasing the wild stuff this state has to offer.Although not the best at actually playing sports, he is a keen sport lover (broncos fan!), and with the 2 stooges above, make up the Sydney storm chasers team.
Here is some answers to some common emails :
No, this is not a full time job, and we do not get paid. It is a hobby we take great pride and joy in, and take seriously. The combination of weather forecasting, together with filmaking and photography makes for an extremely challenging yet rewarding hobby (obsession)
Yes it can get expensive with film costs, fuel and car serivices, and accomodation on our days off when we can get out in the field.
Yes - we designed this site. Well some of us - Two Brown Shoes - its a drupal based site running off a mediatemple grid sever. We tweaked our site for 3 years to get it right and we are still tweaking. Graphics stuff is all done by Dann. Programming and other assorted techy stuff is done by SSC pal Myles
Yes we are those 'sydney storm chasers' you might hear about in the media. Each of us have given radio interviews, on Triple J , and ABC radio in Sydney and regional NSW, and 2UE, NOVA and MMM.
Yes - we are interested in supplying severe storm and weather photography to newspapers, magazines, calendars, postcards, and for business use, just drop us an email.
Thanks again, hope you like this website.
Hi James, Matt and Dann I am a photographer at the Sunday Telegraph here in Sydney. Looking to do a story and picture spread on storm chasers operating out of Sydney. Would like to get in touch to see if we can get some shots of the team in action? Also run some of the photos from the website in the paper. Saw the lightning shot taken earlier this month of the 4-5 strikes. Looks awesome and would be great to give it a good plug in the paper. You can reply email or give me a buzz at the paper on 9288 3016 or speak to my colleague Steve on 9288 3377. Looking forward to hearing from you and hope we can get a picture story for the paper. Cheers Rohan Kelly Photographer Sunday Telegraph 9288 3016
Dann, I am hoping you are who I think you are. I used to go to the home fellowship meetings with Kevin Duck, Jayson and Jo etc (Vision West)and I would like to get in touch with everyone again. Do you still see them? If so, please give them my email as I would love to hear from them all. Also I can't believe you live in Warrimoo. I grew up in Rickard Rd and my sister still lives there. I now live in Engadine and the back of our house faces south, so we get a good view of storm cells approaching. Please email me to let me know if you are who I think you are, or if I am totally wrong. I hope to hear from you soon, Naomi
Wow all these people did so great in their life and it is an example to everybody that you can do it too

What about a girl on the team, don't you need someone to make hot drinks etc ;)
